Sometimes, people are confused about the significance of making slim LCD displays, especially commercial LCD displays, which will keep hanging on the wall and rarely have a chance to see what is behind it. They are not actually interested in this either.
But the most famous brands in this industry, including Samsung and LG, continue to work to “reduce the thickness” of all their products, whether mobile phones, TVs, or commercial digital signage.
From a technical perspective, a slim design can reduce heat consumption by reduce the internal space of heat conduction, reduce the weight by reduce the size of the housing, and reduce the space occupied by reduce the thickness of the LCD…but also required the excellent technical design and manufacture, otherwise the “advantages” we just mentioned will turn into “disadvantages”.
To maintain high brightness while reducing thickness, the structure of the LCD will be redesigned to find the best arrangement. The time and resources cost is not just for some “technical advantages.” The key concept here is how we create better products to help our customers’ businesses.
The question “why we design” actually means “why customers need”, the answer is simple that the traditional type is too conspicuous especially when you put the display behind a transparent glass, the sense of immersion will break by this incongruity.
Making the design of the retail store display window to adapt the LCD signage is one of the choices, also the worst one for both of us and customers. this is the reason that we chose to reduce the thickness and reduce the bezel to reduce the incongruity.
The design concept is help the customer but not cause troubles.
